NIPT Test
Enjoy Privacy & Convenient Prenatal Testing
Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a method used during pregnancy to screen for certain genetic conditions in the developing fetus. Instead of invasive procedures like amniocentesis, which carry some risk, NIPT relies on analyzing small fragments of fetal DNA found in the mother’s blood.
- Purpose: NIPT aims to detect chromosomal abnormalities, such as trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), and trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome), as well as sex chromosome abnormalities
- Non-Invasive: Unlike invasive tests, NIPT is safe for both the mother and the fetus. It involves a simple blood draw from the pregnant woman
- Timing: NIPT can be performed as early as the 10th week of pregnancy
- Accuracy: NIPT is a highly accurate test and doctors often rely on it for further diagnosis
